I have gone to Administrative Tools but can't find DMA.
I have modern harddrive and cd/dvd burner. It is the
burner I want to check on. It is a lite-on combo sohc-5232k .

Thanks

It's in Device Manager, under the entry for your IDE controller.
Look at the primary and secondary channels.

Thanks, went there but can't find anything about dma.
Any suggestions???

If you can't find an "Advanced Settings" tab on your "IDE Channel
Properties" sheet, then you can't change or verify the DMA settings. Any
chance you've got a motherboard with the VIA chipset and are running the VIA
IDE tool?

I have an Asus P4GE-V mobo with Asus 82845 chipset.
No Advanced Settings.
Thanks
