1.My friend had a problem. He has a laptop and it's running Windows Vista
Home Pentium (Sony OEM). And I have a hard disk made by IBM and there was a
program in it. I wanted to give it to my friend. When I had connect them by
USB, Vista coundn't find it and it told me it's a unknown device. But the
system in my computer is Vista Home Pentium, too. And mine isn't a OEM
edition. I bought it in a shop. Can someone of you help me?
His computer is SONY CR-13.
Thanks!

Hi Frank,

First, you should be made aware that you can't run a program like that. Your
friend would need to install the program in thier system using the original
installation media. You can't just copy it over or connect the drive
containing it.

As to recognizing the drive, you probably need to use diskmgmt.msc and from
the tools run rescan disks, then import a foreign disk. Whether or not the
installation is OEM is immaterial.
