Can't edit worksheet

I have a file with 2 worksheets. One I edit frequently and the other I
haven't looked at for a while. When I opened the second worksheet to try to
edit the data, I got what looked like a small rectangle for my cursor and
other areas had a circle with a slash (like for a do not smoke sign). I
can't even close the worksheet from the menu bar, I have to right click on my
taskbar to close excel and now it opens to this worksheet so I can't even
access the other one that works. HELP!

May be the file is corrupted,

Try this
Open a blank excel click ctrl + o, select the file need to open ,
select the drop down list for the open button. Select open and repair
