Can't download XP Service pack 1 - need a CD?

Hi,

Windows Update

Tried many times to download 35Mb Windows XP Service Pack 1 without
success - keeps dropping the line. From where in the UK can I obtain this on
CD?

He said he's trying to DOWNLOAD... He has to download the update
before he can attempt to install it. Has nothing to do with whether
or not the copy is legal.

To the OP: You can purchase SP-1 from MS on CD for a small fee.
Or, have someone with a broadband connection download it for you and
burn to a CD.

No its a pucker original XP Pro CD.

Do you have a pirated copy of Windows or did you purchase it from the store.
I tried to update a pirated copy as a test and it would't let me. It said
unable to patch.
