Can't download files

Shane Nation

Whenever I try to download a file via a link on a web page within a sec of
clicking the link the file appears on the desktop, I have seen no progrees
bar etc, and the file is only a few kb instead of whatever size it should
be. Have clear out the temp files etc.

I am using ie6 and XP2 home, please does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

No it's not, it has never been near this PC as I had problems with it in the
past. I have the same problem with 4 PCs, two laptops two desktops. Got the
latest wireless router software etc, mind you nothing has change recently.
Could the ISP be messing about?

Thanks

And if you eliminate the router and connect directly via the modem, does the
behavior persist?

If so, try Clean Boot troubleshooting to see if you can nail down what may
be causing the problem. From your description, it'd be the same application
installed on every machine.

Thank you I will try it, I have used a dial up modem and that works fine. t
now seems to work sometimes but other times it won't download anything
larger that 500kb!
