Can't Delete Reminder in Outlook 2007

I have a reminder that keeps on opening every time I start Outlook. I attempt
to dismiss it, but it tells me that it cannot find the occurrence and that
the reminder can't be deleted. I have tried /cleanreminders to no avail.

Display your calendar in a table view, such as by recurrence, and scroll
through the events until you find the broken one and then delete it.

Hi,

After poking around for far too long trying to locate a good answer on what
to do I came up with an article relating to Outlook 98 which instructs you to
do the following:

1. Select the Calender tab
2. Select View - Current view - Recurring appointments
3. Look for the offending item
4. Delete it - ignore the error message that comes up
5. Go back to the normal view
6. Just to make sure it worked - shut down and restart Outlook. - GONE!

If you trust technology more than this, just select View - reminders window
and behold how the item is gone.

Worked for me - hope it works for you as well.

Lars,
I have been battling this issue for three weeks and your approach just cured
my problem. As you point out, you simply ignore the error message. Thanks
so much!

Suggestions?

Wow - me too! This appears to have solved my issue as well! Great!

Now, for the big "let this be a lesson to you" question - anybody know why
this happens in the first place, so I don't have to go through this again?
Could it be something to do with the way you delete a recurring appointment?

It occurred in my case by moving files from a workstation to a laptop and
then back. When I travel, I update the pst on my laptop from the desktop in
my office that is my primary workstation. Somehow in moving this back and
forth, this malady began to show. By the way, as I was learning how to do
this pst movement, I moved a couple of other outlook files with it which
turns out aren't necessary. I assumed that I brought over some history with
the transfer on a recurring appointment that was causing the issue.

Is this the real cause in my case, who knows!!

Sadly this did not work for me. the offending calendar item is not shown in
the list of recurring appointment.

Other ideas?

I get the reminder when outlook starts up. The time and date due are always
the current time/date. When I attempt to dismiss it I get message "Cannot
turn off reminder. You may be reminded again."

Thanks for your help!
