Cant delete messages in outbox or inbox

Can anybody help as I am stuck with this bloody problem.

Have messages in both in and out boxes that will not delete ans shows error
messages

NOTE: The title of the KB article says Outbox, but the fix will also work for
stuck messages in other Windows Mail folders.
