Can't delete inbox mail "an unknown error has occurged."

I got this same error message today when trying to delete a message from my
inbox and I have my mail account setup and running fine on my laptop for 4
months now with no problems.I am running Vista Premium. I have read the posts
and people are referring to anti virus but I am running AVG and do not think
it is antivirus related. I just dragged the message I was having trouble
deleting to my junk E-mail folder and then empied the junk folder. My message
was gone and the error is no longer naging me.I hope this is the end of this
because this was just too easy

Bear in mind that which ever AV you are using
email scanning should be omitted or at the very
least disabled.

Has anyone figured out what to do in order to delete from the deleted folder?

Try downloading and installing this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other
folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or the 64-bit
version, try the 32-bit version first. Many common antivirus programs,
such as most of those from Norton or McAfee, or a recent one from
Trend, tend to cause such problems, although not immediately, so if
you have one of them, remember where the fix is since you may need
to apply it again.

That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.

Although only 'Outbox' is mentioned, it will enable removal of stuck
emails from any folder.

Thank you very much!!!! it have been like 4 month without a solution until I
find this one. It resolved everything, the delete messages not being deleted
from the inbox nor the deleted folder.
