cant delete history

hi
every time i delete my history than i close my ie and i
open it again the history is still there. please help

Hi,

You may have to directly delete the appropriate files.
Assuming you are using Windows XP, you may try the
following:

--

To delete the History folder and index.dat (XP)

Log on as Administrator and delete the desired <username>
folder and reboot.
(or log on as another user that has Administrator
privileges)
Example: "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local
Settings\HISTORY"

Hi,
With no IE windows open, try clearing the History from Control Panel>
Internet Options> General> Clear History.

Or, you might need to delete the damaged History folder. A new History
folder will be created on restart.
