For reasons unknown, many files (so far most are mp3's
and video files) on a hard drive of mine will
spontaneously decide not to delete through Explorer. The
message that pops up is along the lines of "being used by
another program".
I have used 3rd party programs (Process Explorer -
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml)
to delete the many handles these files spawn under
Explorer (most spawn handles just by holding the mouse
over them, other normal files don't seem to do this) and
then delete them from the hard drive using DOS
HOWEVER
This is only a temporary solution, as the problem just
moves onto different files.
My crucial and driver Windows updates are up to date as
of 2 hours ago, please can somebody offer me a permenant
solution to this irritating problem!
