cant delete file

I deleted most of a reader file from XP HE but am left with one file on my
desktop when i try to delete it i get a message saying

Error Deleting File or Folder

cannot delete AcroIEHelper.cx: access is denied.

make sure the disk is not full or write-protected

how can i get rid of this

Try to delete it in safe mode. Or you can try this utility

Boot your pc to the command prompt, navigate to your desktop and delete the
file from the directory list with the "del" command.

restart the PC in safe mode (hit F8 after bios screen) then try to
delete this file

Thanks anyway but i managed to delete it by draging it into a new folder
then deleting the new folder
