Can't delete everything that auto-complete seems to find in histor

I have some very long URLs that will show up in my browser when using
autocomplete, but they don't go away when I "delete history". I've run search
on "my computer" and I can't find these strings anywhere, including hidden
files and folders. But they are there somewhere. Most of my usual browser
history does delete properly. Does anyone have any idea what this is and how
to fix it? Is it a virus problem perhaps? It is very distressing because,
frankly, they are not URLs that I would be proud to have someone else see if
they used my computer and they showed up via autocomplete in the browser. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Possible third-party solution:

System Security Suite (3S) is a program designed to remove internet tracks
and junk files from your computer. It allows you to delete Cookies,
clear Internet Explorer Cache, delete index.dat Files, clear Typed URLs,
Windows Temp Folder and much more.
