Cant delete emails from inbox

I have a problem that seems to have occurred after downloading a major
update to office (but may be a coincidence)
I can only delete new emails entering my inbox. I cant delete the older
ones. I get a message saying "errors have been detected in my inbox pst
file, exit outlook and use the repair tool" I have done this , only
minor faults are found , I repair the file but the problem persists. It
only affects my inbox and not deleted files etc. Is there any way to
delete the whole inbox contents and start again or any other
suggestions?
I have tried system restore to as previous date, re loading the
updates.

How many times did you run scanpst.exe? If it finds errors, run it again.
When it no longer finds errors, then open Outlook and see if the problem
persists.
