cant delete e-mails

I can't delete e-mails. I am receiving a huge amount of spam and have done
for a while. Over the past few weeks, everytime I open e-mails, Outlooks
shuts down on me and now I cant move spam and unwanted e-mails to deleted
box. Old e-mails in deleted file also cannot be deleted.

Any ideas?
