Hi
I have the same problem as many other Vista users that a message gets stuck
and can't be deleted. I have tried to download the recommended fixing link
but the progam doesn't respond and I have to close explorer (I have tried
numerous times) - do you have an alternative solution for the problem ?? I'm
quite sure that I have previously validated my Vista program without problem
(it's genuine).

Tks.

Which particular download did you try? The one currently recommended
is this Microsoft fix:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090
"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista"

That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.

Although only 'Outbox' is mentioned, it will enable removal of stuck
emails from any folder.

Hi again

Yes that was the one I tried downloading, and it got stuck during the
download (explorer doesn't answer). It happens when I press "continue". The
program starts alright but freezes in the process. Hope you can guide me to a
solution.
Tks.

I assume by "explorer" you mean the web browser Internet Explorer?
If IE freezes on you, then you have other problems besides email
problems. You will need to get the IE problem fixed first. I am not an
IE troubleshooting expert. Unless another responder wants to jump in
here, you may have to seek help in an Internet Explorer forum.

I have a hunch that you may be running an antivirus program that is
not compatible with Windows Mail. Both McAfee and Norton security
programs fall into that category. As a prerequisite to solving the other
problems, uninstall your incompatible antivirus, then download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see
