Can't delete downloaded program file

L

I am a Snapfish user and when I downloaded the active X control for their
website it did not install properly apparently, it doesn't work. I need to
delete the old file before I can try downloading/installing it again. The
instructions I got from someone at Snapfish told me to go to: Internet
options > General, Browsing history > Settings > View Objects. Then a list of
downloaded files appear and I'm supposed to be able to right click on the
Snapfish file and select delete. But when I right click I do not have the
option to delete and pushing delete does nothing. When I right click,
"properties" is the only thing that shows up and there is nothing that I can
do there but view it. I am logged on as administrator. No errors pop up or
anything, it just does nothing when I try to delete. Help???

I don't know if you still need help with this, but I had the same problem
with Snapfish not working. It worked prior to using Vista, but now doesn't.
Anyway, the instructions from Snapfish to uninstall it is as follows:

First, navigate away from all Sanpfish pages.

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, click Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or
Disable Add-ons.
3. In the Show list, click Downloaded ActiveX controls. This will display
all ActiveX controls.
4. Click the Snapfish Activa active X control, and then click Delete.
5. Clear your browser cache and temporary internet files BEFORE logging back
into your Snapfish account.

When you attempt your next upload you will be prompted to install the Quick
Upload tool. If you do not get a prompt asking you to install the tool, you
have NOT successfully removed the original Quick Upload tool. In that case,
please repeat the above steps.

This worked like a charm. It took off the ActiveX control, then allowed me
to install the Quick Upload tool again. However, the tool still won't work.
One photo at a time will work, but not the Quick Upload tool. I had someone
at Walgreen's (Walgreen's and Costco photo are supported by Snapfish) tell me
that the Quick Upload tool is not supported by Vista. Snapfish is not saying
this. Anyway, good luck. Hopefully it will work for you once you have
deleted then reinstalled.
