can't delete *.dmp files

I can't delete Windows dump files which are created when the system
crashes. Instead, I get the following error message: <<Cannot delete file.
Cannot read from the source file or disk>>

Please help as I have about 10 Mb of such files...Dell 8200, 1.2 Ghz, 512 Mb

If you're running XP on a FAT32 drive then, if you have one, boot with a DOS
boot floppy and navigate to wherever the files are and delete them.

Run CHKDSK sounds like they are corrupt.
