Can't delete an e-mail b/c task folder has already been deleted?

I cannot delete an e-mail in my inbox because the task folder has been
deleted. It says cannot find task folder when I try to delete it. How do I
get rid of it?

Hard to say without any details.
Sounds like you need to reset your default folders.

Start Outlook with the /resetfolders switch;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /resetfolders
