can't delete a registry entry

Hi

When I go into msconfig/setup I find an entry which is ticked which relates
to an old firewall called Sygate that I thought I deleted many moons ago.

There is no mention of this anywhere on the system as far as I can see apart
from the one line in the msconfig/setup which refers to a line in regedit:
HKLM\microsoft\windows\current version\run

I delete this and it seems to be deleted but when I close regedit down and
reboot and again look inthe setup window, the entry is still there. So to is
the entry in the registry.

How do I delete this permanently.
Also ther are a number of other entries in the masconfig\setup window that
are not ticked and no longer exist anywhere. How do I get rid of these.

any help would be appreciated.
Regards

You can look in your Program Files Folder for a Sygate Folder. If there
delete it. Did you use the Add/Remove Programs
to get rid of Sysgate originally? Or it's own Uninstaller? Also look
in ALL the run folders in both HKey_Current_Users
and HKey_Local_Machine for entries that are no longer installed on your
computer.
