Cant create an internet connection

After installing windows XP SP2 i cant create a new
internet connection in order to get into the web.

I receive a "Cant create specified connection.Maybe need
more memory or disk space" message. Obviously i have 20
Gb free and 396Mb RAM.

Can anybody help me wiht this????
