can't create a user, don't no why.......?

Hi all,

I upgraded my win98se to win2kpro, while upgrading I was
log in as a user name 'PROXY' but after upgradation there
was no user name 'PROXY' in the Local Users & Groups &
when I try to a user with that paticular name 'PROXY' it
says that 'A user account with that already exists'.

When checking 'Documents and Setings' folder I found there
was a folder name 'PROXY' but there was no such user
in 'Local Users & Groups' so I deleted that particular
folder.

But after that also, I was unable to create that user & it
is giving the same message as before.

I need that user in my computer.

So kindly help me If anybody have the solutions

Another in the saga of corrupt upgrades. IMO always a bad idea. You may be
able to delete the subkey for the user from;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
