Can't Copy Data.Cab File

After installing a new hard drive and re-installing my primary
software, I thought it would be a good idea to make a back up copy of
some programs. Attempting to copy Adobe Photoshop 7 to a temp
directory, I get an error message stating "cannot copy data1.cab.
Invalid ms-dos function." When I try to burn a copy CD, Roxio freezes.
Any tips on what's going on?....TIA

Corrupted file?? I have seen this stall many CD burns!

....but the program installs fine from the original CD.

I could play the .mp3 file that caused me so much grief. If I left the CD in
the tray, the computer would not even boot. It would hang forever.
