can't connect to xp home

xp home and filesharing is on and users must enter password is on too. can't
connect, says connection refused anytime i try to connect to my xp home. i
have right click on c drive and e drive and clicked the just enable
filesharing link and the hand is on the drives. nothing works.

like i said i already have done that and get the connection refused message.

I'm sorry, I don't think I'm quite clear on what you're trying to do here.
Trying to share files over a network? If so you have configured a workgroup
on both computers? Also did you do so while having any kind of firewall
enabled? We'll need a bit information on whats going on and what you're
trying to accomplish to completely help out here.

Connect from what?
i have right click on c drive and e drive and clicked the just enable
filesharing link and the hand is on the drives. nothing works.

Do you have a 3rd party firewall installed? If so, just disable it, then
try the connection from the remote machine. If it suddenly works,
reconfigure the firewall to allow local systems to connect.

More information would be helpful.

On each WinXP PC, create local user account(s), with non-blank
password(s), that have the desired access privileges to the desired
shares. Log on to the other PCs using those account(s), and you will be
able to access the designated shares, provided your network is
configured properly. Also, make sure that WinXP's built-in firewall is
disabled on the internal LAN connection.

Usually, WinXP's Networking Wizard makes it simple and painless --
almost entirely automatic, in fact. There's a lot of useful,
easy-to-follow information in WinXP's Help & Support files, and here:
