Can't connect to internet through DSL modem

Hi there, I'm having an issue with my DSL Actiontec wireless modem
connection.

My company has a kiosk network that goes through Qwest DSL to connect back
to the Kiosk network.

The ActionTec modems get set up into Bridging Mode and have each of their
own individual IP addresses. All of the actiontec modems have the exact
same settings for each kiosk except for this ip address. The kiosk computer
is then setup with it's own ip and the DSN is set to the server ip. Again
the settings are all the same as the rest of the kiosk computers.

Recently though, by unfortunate accident one of the kiosk computers was
given the same IP address as another. This caused the second one to lose
it's connection. Once the problem was fixed the the IP changed on this
second one, the first one went down immediately. I went to the site to try
to fix the problem. The actiontec modem shows connected and I've removed
and re-inserted all the correct configurations several times but the
computer absolutely will not connect to the domain. It even shows connected
in the modem configuration itself.

Here's what I tried:
Resetting the modem, and also re-installed the firmware for the modem to the
default then put the setting back as what they should be
Reinstalled the computer ghost image and re-setup the kiosk computer
Changed the kiosk computer name
Changed the kiosk computer ip

No matter what I do, the system will show that the modem is connected but
will not link back to the server. Could this be a result of the two
computers having been given the same ip address and now causing some sort of
conflict? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
Derek

Try switching off the computer and modem for at least 30min, if you haven't
done so already.

Sometimes once an IP gets bound to a wrong MAC address (network-adapter ID)
it can take some considerable time (of inactivity) for this to be cleared.
