can't connect to 2k server share

Scott

I have very little experience with Macs so please bear with me. I recently
created a share on our Win2000 server machine and tried to connect to it
from a Mac with no success. I went to Go and then Connect to Server and
chose the server. It promts me for a login and after I log on it only show a
previous share that I created quite a while ago. I cannot see the new share.
I know it is something I am doing but I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Hi Scott!

Are you connecting with a Mac OS X machine and if so are you connecting
using SMB (the Unix version of Windows networking) or AFP (Apple Filing
Protocol)?

Windows servers can take a directory and share it as a Windows "share" as
well as a Macintosh "volume". Sharing a directory one way does not
necessarily share it the other way.

If you are connecting to the server using AFP, then you'll need to make sure
the directory shared on the server is shared as a Macintosh "volume" before
the Mac will see it.

For more about Mac volumes, check the server's Help found under the Start
menu. It has pretty detailed information.

Hope this helps! bill
