Can't close IE window, can only minimize

Each time I open a page in IE, I can't close it, can only
minimize it. My task bar is crowded with minimized pages,
and ultimately, laptop chokes. What causes this? what do I
need to do? thanks for help!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

I have the same exact problem with my Windows XP

desktop...Did you ever get it fixed?

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items listed in red.)
