Can't close a window without using task manager

T

Tom Piepol

Using Internet Explorer after opening a window it won't
close by clicking the x or right clicking the "close"
option. All I get is the bell. I have to use Task Manager
and use the "end program" option.

Hi Tom,

Disable the tool bands and Browser Helper Objects features:

Close all instances of Internet Explorer
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Browsing, click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) check box.
Restart Internet Explorer.

==Step 2==
Additionally, use BHODaemon and disable unwanted browser helper plugins:
http://www.webattack.com/get/bhodaemon.shtml

==Step 3==
Run Ad-Aware and remove the malware products from the system. Download from
www.lavasoftusa.com
