Can't Close Multiple Explorer Windows

When I open multiple windows in Explorer, some of the
windows can't be closed with ALT-F4 or by clicking the X
to close the window. The only way to close them is to go
into task manager and force explorer to close with "end
task." (Didn't used to have this problem.)

A google search turned up one suggested fix -- deleting
this registry entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects


Tried that, but the problem persists.

I had the same issue and deleted the re entry you stated and it fixed my
prob. Thx for the help. Sorry it hasn't helped you hey. Did you do it go for
a re-boot maybe?

Tried the re-boot, and the entry is gone. But the
problem remains.
