Can't Change Outlook to have Firefox as the Default Browser

Using outlook 2003 sp1 on xp sp1

Have been using Avant as a browser for some time
(its a derivation of ie)

Recently, I've changed ny default browser on my system to firefox in
the usual way

However, if i launch a link in outlook, it always fires up the avant
broser which is not the default

Any clues?
