fed up

I need to be able to change my IP address.

Thing is, looking at the "help and support centre" thats
built into my copy of XP it says that after opening
Network connections window i should click on the
connection i want to configure and then....

"under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this
connection.
"

What rubbish.

I cant find "change settings of this connection" for the
life of me.

ideas?

Make sure that you're logged in as a user with administrator
privileges. A limited user can't change connection settings.

Does anything appear under the "Network Tasks" heading? If not, click
the two down arrows next to it to expand the list.

Another way to change a connection's settings is to right click the
connection and click Properties.

If you turned off the show common tasks option in folder options then you
won't see the referred to link. As Steve said, just right click and select
properties.
