Hi,
I've been down for 4 days and can't take any more.
I blew out my power supply which blew out my
MotherBoard.
After replacements I booted up and made some
dopy error. I remove the paging files from my
slave drive's logical drives and did not increase
my boot drive paging file.
Now it won't boot, citing this problem.
"Can't boot up windows: Not enough virtual memory or paging file quota is
available... bah bah!
I loaded the drive (its a scsi) as a slave on another
XP Home and I am trying to use the LOAD HIVE
to change the registry settings to increase the
paging file size.
My questions are, will this be enough to actually reset
the paging file or is this only part of it? And my other
question has to do with the procedure. Then instructions
I have found online do not match the action of my
regedit. Can anyone give me the step by step for
loading the hive (system)?
I am asked for to find the file. I navigate to system.
I am then asked for the KEY. I use HKLM spelled
out. I read I was going to give it a name so I could
navigate to it. this did not happen. The option did not
appear. Trying to make up a name instead of the
Key does not work. It all seems weird. Why do I
navigate to the slave and select the file, only to have
to enter the KEY? One time the kep appeared
as a dupllicate of the HKLM underitself, but the
entries were my boot drive repeated and not the
slave.
Any help would be appreciated.
