Hi Mo,
You have a problem with an update, hotpatch, and/or infection. Can you tell me
if any of these things have accorded. Anyone of the caregivers in here, will ask
you to perform a "repair" install from your current ERD, and Full BackUp. And I
feel confident that you are going to tell me that you do not have any ERD, or
Full BackUp. If you do, however, use the ERD, after booting with your four
startup boot disks. Assuming you do not.
Boot with you boot disks, and choose to install and at the prompt choose "R" for
repair using the Recovery Console. This is a shot in the dark approach, and you
should know that may be forced to perform a Clean Install after the process.
This will cause the lose of your data that does not have a backup( I assume).
You have one alternative. But a second hand 4 gig HDD, set it as your Master,
and load W2K. When you complete, install the original as a slave drive, and your
data will be good on that drive. You can use it for your data, and pagefile.sys.
After getting all the good information moved to a clean part of the HDD, delete
the rest of what was your OS and clean up the Drive. If you don't have a heck of
a lot on it, burn a CD with all you want and Format that second drive to NTFS or
FAT32 to be consistent with the 4 gig drive.
