Can't boot computer after installing security updates

Last night i updated my laptop after Microsoft promoted me
that I did not have the most recent security paks. I
updated per their recommendations. Now, the computer
boots up to where I get my screensaver to come on, but no
further. None of the typical windows products load... and
I receive this error: Explorer executed an invalid
instruction in module BROWSEUI.DLL at 017f:7116eeed. Then
it lists a ton of registers. Can someone help me with
this!!!!

*Always* disable your anti-virus application and close all other running
processes before going to Windows Update and when downloading/installing
from an MS page.
