Cant assign macro to command button

Hello people

Wonder if u can help me, it shld b a really str8fwd pb

I've created a simple macro (for inserting columns & copying across data),
and wanted to assign it to a command button.
Usually, I'd right-click that button, choose 'assign macro' and select my
macro...

Only thing is, there's not that option.

So, is it a case of selecting or switching an option on/off in the tools>
options menu?
I did try the Tools> Macros> Security, to enable Medium security, but it
didnt help.

I'm using Win2k Pro, and Excel 2k Sp3

Cheers!

Gui.

Hi
It seems like you have created a command button from the controls Tools box.
In which case the option you're after is "View Code"
HTH
Cordially
Pascal

thanks, but after clicking 'view code', i get into the visual basic editor
window... which is not what i want, not really knowing how to program in VB
(ie, clueless if asked to program) :)
no, what i usually do is create a macro, then bring up a command button,
right-click it and choose 'assign macro'... now, i dont have that option
when i right-click... mmm, it's annoying
