cant access yahoo email!?

background: running windows 98, ie6 with latest patches.

problem: i cannot get into my yahoo email (in either
standard or secure mode)-after typing id and password, i
get= page unavailable, please try again later....
same for netscape 7 in standard mode,

but CAN access email via netscape 7 and yahoo secure mode.

any ideas?
