My computer is suddenly unable to access the Windows Update web page. When I
try to access it I get the following message:
"Thank you for your interest in Windows Update
Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the
most out of your computer.
You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to use
Windows Update."
I am (of course) using a Windows OS. I have not installed any new hardware /
software since I last used the update page without any problems. I have not
altered the settings in my security sofware.
I have also been having general problems with crashes during shutdown,
leading to automatic restarts and "serious error" reports. My system has also
been noticably slow recently. Is this related? My security software is up to
date and my system is not infected by known viruses etc.
Can anybody help?
Thanks.
