Can't access Trusted Sites

Mark

Don't know when this 'feature' first appeared, but....

When trying to view my "Trusted Sites" I find that the button is grayed out
(i.e. I can't get the window listing my sites). Also note that the same
holds true for the Custom Level button (grayed out) so I can't modify my
security settings for my Trusted Sites.

IE seems to be seeing the Trusted Sites fine in that I get the "Trusted"
icon in the lower right of the browser window. Also if I try to add a site
to the Trusted Site list that is already on the list I get the normal "this
site is already in that zone" message. So seems IE is seeing/using the list
as per normal.

Looked in the registry and my sites are there....

The "Internet Zone" seems to be normal in that my Custom Level can be
accessed and modified. Can also still access my Restricted Zone list as per
normal

My available disk space is getting a little low on my C Drive, so I'll see
if that makes a difference by bumping that up a little.

Anyway, any other ideas out there???

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

Which button is greyed-out exactly? The "Sites" button? A screenshot might help here.

For the Custom Level button, here is the registry setting:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]

Set "SecChangeSettings" value to 0.

Sorry I didn't check this before my other reply...

I don't have (or can't find) the key you provided. I must apologize in that
I did not previously provide my OS version (which is 98SE); IE is Ver 6

Mark,

Try this fix: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/iegentabs.reg

If that does not work, can you send me the screenshot of the Security dialog?
