Can't access shared folder on XP from win2k

Hi,



I'm trying to setup a network between a computer running XP pro SP2 and
another running Windows2000. Both computer belongs to the same workgroup.



PROBLEM: I'm not able to reach a shared folder on the XP computer from the
win2k computer (works fine the other way around).



I think it may have something to do with the "control panel-> administrative
tools -> local security settings -> local policy -> user right assignment"
on the XP computer, since no account is allowed to "Access this computer
from the network".



But XP resets/removes my account, when I add it to "Access this computer
from the network" (I'm local administrator, and i'm not listed on "denied
access to this computer from the network"



Any help would be appreciated

Have you disabled simple file sharing? You can do wo by opening Explorer,
going to
Tools > Folder Options, selecting the View tab and unchecking the option
(it's at the very bottom of the list.)

This setting is on by default and hampers direct connections to shared
folders.
