can't access secure sites

I recently had a problem with IE6 not opening, apparently
caused by adware of some sort. I disabled 3rd party
browser extensions and downloaded and ran Ad-Aware. Now
the user can't log into any secure websites that he uses
for business - he'll get an invalid username message. He
can log in from other office computers. Any suggestions?
