can't access secure hyperlinks

I'm in trouble. All of a sudden, I can't do my banking or pay my credit card
online. When I try to link to the secure page to actually transact, I get a
blank page. This happens on some commercial sites, too.

The new page comes up blank -- at the top it says "about:blank - Microsoft
Internet Explorer".

I've tried looking everywhere, and can find no solution.
I've no viruses or spyware that I can find.
I'm running XP, with Explorer 6.0.2900, and have fully updated (in fact, I'm
beginning to wonder if the last update did the damage).

Internet Explorer".

IE Tools > Internet Options > General > Home page > Is "blank" your chosen
home page?

2. If it's not, you've been hijacked!

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
