Can't access my own website

More exactly, there's a page on my website which I can't access. I get the
message "The page cannot be found". I've replaced the file several times.
I've even re-written it. I can access the page (by links) on my own computer
but for some reason it just won't work on the website.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Is it in a different directory or are there other pages with it that work
okay?

Some systems used to have problems with upper case letters in page names,
Mypage.htm was no good but mypage.htm was okay. If you are uuploading to the
site via FTP that might be it. There has to be a reason for just one page to
be refused.

AFAIK Windows does not care about case, but other operating systems do
(as they should). I think that this is what the OP should focus on.

It was in the same group. I was also unable to update my website. That is,
after uploading modified files, and trying to view them, I was only able to
see the earlier stuff.

I then realized that a link in one page did not use the right case. I made
the correction, and both the above problems came right straight away.

That was last night.

This morning, after making new changes to my stuff, I have the second
problem all over again (tho not the first). I've checked and rechecked
everything but I can't see anything incorrectly typed.

I've wiped out the relevant files in the cookies and Temporary Internet
folders, and I've even deleted all the files on my website, closed the FTP
programme, and rebooted my computer. But when I go there, up come the same
old files.

What on earth could I be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Tim

double check to insure the page is saved as htm or html
and that the link or address to get to it is the same..

If you can't see changes you've just made to your web page, force a refresh
by doing a CTRL+F5. If this keeps happening, totally delete the Temporary
Internet Files folder from another user account with admin. privileges.

..jpg .JpG etc would be alright in windows but in Unix .jpg and .JpG would be
different and not show in a listing of files I think.
