Can't access hard drive

I have an HP computer with XP Home and with a 60GB hard drive that I bought
as a refurbished unit a few years ago. Over the years I've outgrown the
hard drive and was beginning to have some problems so I got a new 120GB hard
drive and a new XP Pro operating system. I put the new hard drive in the
computer as master, installed the new operating system and all the drivers
and software that I wanted and then installed the old drive as slave, copied
the data that I wanted off the old hard drive to the new hard drive. So far
everything works just as I planned. My next plan was to take the old 60GB
drive and install it as a second drive on another machine. However, when I
installed it on the second machine that computer OS (XP Pro) couldn't see
the drive. The computer bios sees it but it doesn't show up in Windows. I
pulled the drive and put it into a usb hard drive enclosure and tried
accessing it on three different computers (WinXP), including the original
HP. None of them would see the drive in Windows. I've tried moving the
jumper to every setting available and nothing makes a difference. I did
reinstall the drive as the slave on the original HP computer and that WinXP
sees it. The problem is, that's not where I want the drive. Could it be
that someone somehow locked that drive so it won't work on any computer
except the original machine it was installed in? TIA!

Run diskmgmt.msc via Start / Run, then assign drive letters
to the partitions on the problem disk.
