I can't access alot of websites, ie microsoft messenger.
I am 99% sure it is a MTU problem..
Does anyone know how to change the MTU from 1500 (default?) to 1492

thanks

There could have been an application that makes changes to your local hosts
file. Kazaa is one that's notorious for this. Check the file in
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. You'll need to open it with notepad
or wordpad. If that's clear then we'll have to see where else your problem
exists (as long as your ISP isn't having any issues, etc.)

Yeah, thats the exact problem, I am 99% sure it is to do with MTU setting
being wrong. In my case It should be 1492...I think 1500 is the default.

I thought IPv6 auto detected the settings but maybe i am wrong.

Hank,

I have not installed any applications yet and the local host file looks
untouched...

any idea how to manually change the mtu setting?

cheers

Stu
