For some reason, when I try to get to my Firewall/Security settings I get a
"Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot access your Firewall
settings." Does anyone know where this is coming from or better yet, how I
can make it go away?

Thanks!

Is this the error message?

"Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall
settings"

If yes, do:
Start>Run regsvr32 hnetcfg.dll [enter]

If no, post back with the exact text of the error message.

Yes. That was an error message. However, I did the Start.Run. etc and that
didn't work. Any other suggestions? Or know of anyone else you might know?

Thanks for your help!

I don't know enough about your computer to give you a suggestion. You
haven't really provided any information. Did the Windows Firewall ever
work? If yes, what changed between the time things worked and the time
they didn't?

Do you have a third-party security suite or antivirus that has its own
firewall? If yes, then it probably disabled the WF. Check in the
program's options to be sure.

What is the virus/malware-status of the machine? If you think it is
clean, what program (names and versions, please) did you use to
determine this? Be sure the machine is clean:
