Canon s450 waste tank reset proceedure wanted

I have had the 'Waste Tank Nearly Full' error message on my Canon s450
printer. I have managed to remove, wash and dry the felt pads, but the
orange flashing light indicates that the error still persists. I understand
that the EEPROM needs resetting. After many searches, I have found reference
to a proceedure for the BJC6000 and other Canon printers, but none for the
s450. I tried the found proceedures but without success. I understand that
the printer will stop completely soon if it is not reset.
Please does anyone out there know of the correct fix for the s450?

Thanks in anticipation.

Re my earlier posting, I have done some more searching and came up with the
following that seems, so far, to have worked.
1 Press PAPER FEED button > Press POWER ON button simultaneously

2. Release PAPER FEED button still holding POWER ON button

3. Press PAPER FEED button twice

4. Release POWER ON button

5. Press PAPER FEED button twice

6. Power OFF printer > POWER ON printer

Hope this helps for others.

I was amazed how much ink was used each time a head clean is done. The ink
fairly squirted out onto the newspaper under the printer chassis. This
sometimes happens as well on switch on when a routine clean is done. Now I
know why my tanks empty so quickly. It is also surpising how much ink the
pads soak up under the printer. It is worth cleaning them as I believe that
new ones, if available, are quite expensive, but wear rubber gloves or your
hands will be black for a long time!
