Canon ip4000: how to set and keep default printing options?

I can't seem to figure out what and how determines what
settings/profile are used by printer on default.

I mostly print on plain paper. I've created custom profile to set
the combination of color correction/raster quality that I like.
Problem is, I could never make it stick - the printer seemed
to default to its factory defaults.

But now something happened and I have it a lot worse:
the default now is 4x6 Photo Glossy! (Not the settings in the
"default" profile but settings that are used when simply
turning the printer on and printing without profile selection).
So now, every time I forget to change profile manually, I end
up wasting lots of paper and inks.

Please someone tell how to revert to the plain paper defaults,
preferably with my favorite settings.

Thanks much,

DK

To reset the default profiles: Start>>Settings>>Printers and choose the
Canon and make your settings from their and not from a document or other
software program.

I think you mean 'make your settings from there'.

John.

I was referring to your incorrect usage of the word their...

John.

You mean as in..."their ain't no damn reason for you to be correcting
now is their"?
(sorry but I just can't seem to let this one go...:-D)
