Something I've been wondering about for a while. Searched for the
answer, but became bogged down in various answers at odds with each
other.

I've used this printer for a few years now. I'm wondering why, with
the limited photo use, that the colour inks run out much more often
than I would suspect. As an example, replaced all of the catridges a
few months ago and have been printing basically text document.
Settings are for plain paper and grayscale. I am understanding then
that the black 3e pigmented ink gets used - and that catridge alone.
But as of late, a couple of this other colour catridges are reading
"low". All of this with perhaps one 8 x 11 colour photo print since
the catridge replacements.

Appreciate any and all answers to this. thanks

The ink is used for cleaning cycles and need replacement once or twice
a year just on that.
