Canon i550 colour problem

Hi,

I just purchased a i550 printer and it printed great pictures until now.
There is a slight purplish tint on pictures that have some black in it.

I've tried every setting to get it right but the tint is still there.
I've tried the deep cleaning mode and alignment but still the same.

I then changed the print head and it printed the correct colours.
After only printing about a half dozen pics , the same problem is happening.

My ink cartridges are nearly full.

This is the second problem I've had in the past 2 weeks.
The first i550 I had started to chew up the paper so I exchanged it to get
this printer ( thats how I got the extra print head) and now it looks like
it's screwed.

I've had 3 other Canon printers and have never had this problem before.
Looks like I'll have to exchange this one because this is just not right.

Does anyone know of this problem? Can anything be done?

thanks

Dan

I've solved my problem... when I did a nozzel print I noticed it did'nt
print the yellow properly.

When I pulled out the yellow cartridge , low and behold ... there was a
littlle piece of plastic still on the top rear of the cartridge which must
of affected the airflow.
I peeled it off then did a print and now it's printing fine.

thanks

Dan
