Canon Easy WebPrint

Criag

There was an autoupdate of Microsoft Internet Explorer last Friday.
I assumed that it was the new IE7.
The IE7 no longer accepts Canon Easy-WebPrint v. 2.6 any more (I have been
using v. 2.64).
So far, I was not able to find Easy WePrint for IE7.
Could someone point me to where I can download it? Craig

Ahhh - the pleasure of "newer and better"! I hesitate to think of all the
programs, printers, scanners, and other devices that were made inoperative
by "upgrades" in windows and associated programs.

We are forced became suckers because of the bottomless pit of
updating/upgrading of software.
It's a catch-22 situation for ordinary humble people.

Do doublecheck the [HELP], [about] tabs in internet explorer to see
which version you are running. I'm stilll on IE6, but I simply do not
use IE6.

The offical site for Canon EZ web print is
http://www.canoneasywebprint.com/en/index.htm

But according to the same site "Canon Easy-WebPrint supports Internet
Explorer versions 5.5 and 6.0. It does not support Internet Explorer
7.0. You will not be able to install Canon Easy-WebPrint on computers
running Internet Explorer 7.0."

They "may be" working on a new version for IE 7, but there "may not
be". I simply do not know, all I know is at present Easy-WebPrint does
not exist for IE 7.

I now confirmed that it is indeed IE v. 7.
I hope to see ie7 compatible Easy WebPrint soon.

Craig

Interesting.
I'm running a fully updated XP SP2 box here with Canon Easy Web Print
v2.5.1.6 working fine in IE 7. It came in automatically when IE 6 was
upgraded to IE 7.
I don't know if I could download and install a later version successfully,
but my existing Canon Easy Web Print v2.5.1.6 is fully functional.

My computer is also XP Pro/SP2 and runs excellent.
No problem. When IE7 was booted (after autoupdate), the screen prompted
that it does not support v. 2.6.
I even tried to re-install v. 2.6, it prompted the same error message.
I wonder if v. 2.5, not 2.6, is fully compatible with IE7.

I have been using Canon EasyWebPrint heavily for printing from web.
So I am considering to reverse to IE6.

Craig.

It seems to me that IE7 does not need Easy WebPrint any more.
Today I tested printing a few webpages. The printout was perfect: the
width of web page was contained in 8 x 10 paper (but with smaller font).
Now, I do not see why we need Easy WEbPrint.
BTW, I like IE7 more than IE6 now.
