I converted to a dynamic disk, soon after I had several
crashes and I went into the repair option on the CD. My
partitions could not be repaired, so i tried an install
(just recently installed it to begin with, nothing big
would be lost). Unfortunately, it wouldn't install
either. So i deleted the partition and tried to create a
new one. Said that the partition was not XP compatible
and I cannot go into the recovery console to format. Any
suggestions?

Boot the machine with a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com,
then run bootpart.exe from http://www.russelltexas.com/delpart.htm
to delete any or all partitions.

You can install xp cd,restart computer, boot to xp cd,recovery, press ente
for password,at cmd screen type:DiskPar
In DiskPart any or all partitions can be deleted, then create one, when thru type:EXI
back in cmd screen type:EXIT restart computer, boot to cd,install x
This works on full xp editions, not upgrades, with upgrades, delete unwanted partition
only, then install new copy of xp,you need a previous version of xp (upgrade) for it t
reinstall xp,full copy wont matter
